DEENO
DEENO Hydro 4 SE corded cleaner
The Hydro 4 SE is DEENO's lighter corded robot with a 40-foot cable, lateral waterline scrubbing, and an ultra-clean mode.
The Hydro 4 SE is the corded robot in this lineup to consider when the waterline is dirty and the pool is close to the outlet. It does not outrank the cordless picks for a simple weekly floor clean. It earns the slot because the waterline behavior and the fine basket are specific.

What holds up
- Patented-style lateral move along the waterline is the reason to pick the SE
- Ultra mode is aimed at a neglected pool, not only a maintenance pass
- Same 5,070 gallon-per-hour suction story as the Hydro 4 in a 14-pound body
- 180 micron, 4.1 liter basket
- Shorter 40-foot cable is less mess if the pool is not huge
What to doubt
- Forty feet will not reach a large diagonal. The Hydro 4's 49-foot cable exists for that pool
- Bluetooth is onshore only. The app will not talk to it underwater
- Twenty-six ratings can move fast. Read the newest ones
- A cord is still a cord
Waterline first
The SE's listing leans on lateral movement at the waterline plus scrubbing rollers. That is a different motion from a robot that merely crests the wall and falls back. Combined with dual pumps at 85 gallons per minute, the pitch is scum line plus sand, not just leaves on the floor.
Modes are automatic, wall, floor, and ultra. Ultra is the neglected-pool cycle. DEENO says auto and ultra run somewhere between one and three hours depending on area, and that wall-only and floor-only run about two hours. You pick the mode in the Poolmate-style app or on the machine before it goes in the water.
Know the radio limit
The Hydro 4 SE connects on shore. Once it is under, Bluetooth is shielded and the app is done talking. The cycle you already sent keeps going. If you wanted to abort, you pull the cable gently to the wall. You do not stand on the deck mashing a phone and wondering why the mode will not change.
Against the longer-cable Hydro 4, choose the SE when waterline scrubbing and a slightly simpler cord are the priority. Choose the standard Hydro 4 when the pool is larger, the debris is opening-week heavy, and you want selectable one-, two-, and three-hour durations more than the SE's ultra button.
Questions before you buy
Why will the Hydro 4 SE app not connect in the water?
DEENO says this model only links above water. Set the mode on the deck, then launch it. The robot keeps the task if the phone drops.
How do I start ultra-clean mode?
Use the app on shore, before the machine is submerged, and select the ultra cycle there.
